The last week of May sweeps is usually among the best television of the year. First, yours truly is working more--which means more $$, so no complaints there, thank you very much. Second reason: the season/series finales are broadcast which (hopefully) feature the best writing and character development of the season.
Next week Desperate Housewives will wrap it's blockbuster season. My highlight of the year was last night when integration finally came to Wisteria Lane via a U-Haul truck.
The new kids on the block are Alfre Woodard and ... Mehcad Brooks. MB's brief introduction was bittersweet. As you've been hearing for months and months, he's such a stunna ... there's no tiring of looking at the 6'5 former All-American baller.
The tease at the end of last night's episode was unexpected, the perfect segue into next week's season finale that fully introduces his character and that of on-screen mom Alfre Wodard. Why bittersweet? We have to wait another week to see him.
Thanks to Jimmy at Austin City-Unlimits for the screen captures.

I may have to tune in and start watching now... I wasnt interested in the whole desperate housewives phenom... middle aged white women dont do it for me...
But I LOVE Alfre Woodard... ever since Maya Angelou's down in the delta, I have been a fan.
I will have to check it out.

I am from Austin, Texas and went to school with Mechad and Billy Brooks at Read Elem. and Kealing Jr. High. I was hoping he would have a fan club so I could see his progress. They always said they'd be famous.
