Tuna tartar compliments of the chef at Blackbird.
The restaurant's decor is minimalist and ultra-chic and the fare follows that lead. Mediabistro.com's Laurel Touby sampled the grilled hangar steak with sun dried tomatoes and escarole. Our new pal Kristin—a production designer—dined on California sturgeon that was so fresh it almost melted on your palette. We had the braised pork cops with squash and black figs. Blackbird is a fabulous dining experience.

Hey Rod- Can you pls link to pix from the Mediabistro Chicago event? Thx!

Interesting. I remember dining at Blackbird when it forst opened and wasn't blown away by the food (I prefered Marche').
Obviously, they're doing something right to be in business this long.
