For any gay man who has had (a) cop fantasies involving handcuffs, (b) Shaquille O'Neal dreams or (c) both, this one's for you. We always thought Shaq was a nice guy—no matter what Kobe said—but we didn't know he was so nice and gay friendly. His Shaqness helped the Miami Beach PD collar two gay bashing suspects.
The Miami Herald reports O'Neal is actually training to become a reserve MBPD officer. Early Sunday he was driving down fabulous and gay-friendly Washington Street when he witnessed two men jump out of a car, yell gay slurs and hurl a bottle at two male pedestrians. "[Shaquille] followed the vehicle until it turned onto Palm Island,'' said police spokesman Robert Hernandez. "He flagged down the Miami Beach officer on duty there, and the officer was able to apprehend the subject." Soon, the baller will be able to make his own apprehensions; his officer training has been completed and "he's already been fitted for a uniform." Hmm.

Show Shaq's true character and strength. Despite the negative "Kobe" comment(s) and a situation like this....it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that even though he's a giant in stature and in form on the court....he has a heart to match. It shows what he is really made of!
Kudo's to this PLATINUM role model!

I'm glad Shaq got involved instead of ignoring a hate crime. al49005@yahoo.com.

Well I guess when the" HEAT" is on the "law" is close behind to make an arrest, and we should be thankful that the arresting officer is no other than "Shazzam"

The reason Shaq was in a gay area of Miami Beach at 3 in the morning, alone, is obvious.
However, that is not why I think he is gay. Supposedly, he is gay from some parties where he showed up with his lover. It is too bad NBA players like Shaq have to hide. I don't blame him, and he may be hiding from his family as well. The press and other players apparantly protect him, and I don't blame them either. It is a fact of the NBA and of professional sports that gays have to hide,
and that they are protected by the press. You don't cruise that area of Miama Beach at that time of the early morning to go whale spotting.
