United Church of Christ will resume those brilliant television spots promoting acceptance of the gays. The commercials ran in December '04 and this past March, showing two buff bouncers guarding a church. The bouncers rejected people of color and a lesbian couple. The message across the screen: “Jesus didn’t turn people away. Neither do we." The narrator says, “No matter who or were you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.” The campaign earned the Multicultural Excellence award from the Association of National Advertisers. NBC and CBS rejected the spots

Arizona: Presbyterians want gays and lesbians ordained.

Pentagon: 10,000 servicemembers have been discharged for being gay. Meanwhile, 100 congressmen co-sponsor bill to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

Don't Serve, Don't Tell
Our congressmen have figured it out, it ain't right, and it's costly...$95 mil over 10 years. I gave DOD 12 good years, got my Honorable Discharge by keeping my 'biz on the low....but the current climate still isn't cool, even with all the progress out here in civilian life.
Maybe with a repeal, and considerable changes in hierarchy, recruiting efforts wouldn't look so dismal?
