It's the Oprah-Letterman Show.
After 16 years—"Sixteen and a half,"she corrected—the Queen of Television honored Dave Letterman with a visit. Video clip via The Malcontent.
Paul Shaeffer's band brilliantly performed the theme of the Oprah show as Ms. Winfrey received a standing O. (Ha!) Then, for the next half an hour or so, there was a mutual love fest. No one could remember the feud, there was peace and calm in the air, Dave and Oprah discussed children's books—much like two soccer moms catching up with each other at a Starbucks. In short, it was Oprah on late-night. "A little too Oprah and not enough Letterman," says our Jossip buddies.
Of course, the real reason for the kiss and make-up is because of the good publicity this will bring to Oprah's The Color Purple on Broadway, premiering just a block down from the Letterman studios. Dave acting as her personal escort to the theatre had to be one of the standout moments of this season.

My favorite line was during his monologue when he said, "Even my mother said tonight she may switch over from Leno."
