If it isn't obvious by now, we're totally in love with Martha Stewart. Especially on a day like Thursday when someone as fabulous as Nia Long stops by she and the guest are instantly simpatico. What is there not to love?
Nia chats up her new movie, Big Momma’s House 2. Nia's five second plot rundown: "It's five years after the original, and Martin [Lawrence] and I are married now. And Big Momma is back." "So Martin Lawrence ... is Big Momma? That must have been interesting!" Martha joked. The girls had a lovely conversation, talking about Martin and Nia's other roles in movies like Boyz N da Hood, Love Jones, Soul Food and Alfie. "I especially loved Boyz N da Hood," Martha explained in that fabulous (albeit affected) Philadelphia mainlne accent. "It's great to see that you and Cuba Gooding Jr. have accomplished so much."
Martha Stewart loves it when the sistaz come on and we love watching her when there's some flava in the kitchen. She's free, she's fun and we see a side that we never expected. Last week it was Vanessa, before it was Patti Labelle (twice) and Anita Baker. You go, girl!
More on Nia: Besides the movie, she says that on Monday she will begin directing a music video for Yolanda Adams for the song This Too Shall Pass.
Finally, let's explain Martha's feathered friend. One of the later segments offered tips on keeping your pets comfortable in the cold weather, so this gorgeous parrot hung out on-cam. Nia was totally loving the bird. "This is little Coral Anne," Martha explained, as Nia introduced herself to the bird. It was just lovely; Nia was sweet and also a bird lover, so another segment made in heaven.
There was a crafting segment (which we missed) and also more pets. But y'all get the idea.

When I saw the previews for "Big Momma's House 2," I was like, "why?" The source material ("Big Momma's House") isn't really relevant now; if it (this sequel) were made just after the original, there would be, in my opinion, more of a need for it.
Sidenote: Nia Long is one fine, black woman. Liked her and Vanessa Williams and Vivica Fox (who are also fine) in "Soul Food."

I thought it was just me. She has had a lot of black folks in that kitchen lately. You go Martha!

I'm sorry I missed that show, though I never watch Martha. Nia is the cream of the crop of young actresses. She never fails to deliver, whether in trite stuff like "Big Momma' s House" or harder stuff like "Boiler Room" she brings it and is always gorgeous in the process. She is always classy. Yes I am in love with her. What can I say.
