A few days ago we spent much of the afternoon chatting up Wilson Cruz, who is one of the strongest but most under-rated talents in Hollywood. Look for our interview with the out and proud actor in the next issue of Clik where we discuss everything from being out in Hollywood to his well-received recurring role on Noah's Arc. "I'm going to do a few more episodes next season," he says. "There's no definite story yet, we don't exactly what's going to happen with Junito and Ricky, but it should be interesting."
The Malcontent posts an eight-minute video clip of Wilson's recent guest appearance on Related. Cruz plays the boyfriend of Peter Paige (Queer as Folk) and they attend the wedding of the mother of Paige's character. Gay men plus a wedding equals instant drama, right?

I just read in Parade or USA Weekend last week(one of those freebie news mags on Sundays),that Wilson and his girlfriend have an apartment in Hollywood. How nice. I always thought he was gay, not that there's anything wrong with being straight. But in Clik, he's gay? I wonder if he's featured in Cat Fancy does that make him...?

sorry johno, wilson has been gay and out for many years, before ellen. you must have read about someone else.

sorry I am an idiot. I was confused by the Wilsons. I was thinking of Wilson Jermaine Heredia not Wilson Cruz. Mea culpa.

I know I shouldn't. I tried to stop myself. I shouldn't give in to my impulses, but they're overwhelming sometimes. And this is one of them. I WANT WILSON CRUZ!!! I can't help it. He's beautiful. He's talented. He's wonderfully bright. He's marvelously articulate. Gimme, gimme, gimme. I need. I need. I need.
Ok. That's better. Carry on.

Now then. Now that I've had time to recover, let me reflect a bit more rationally. Mr. Cruz' public conduct is a supremely positive image anyone, gay or straight, could model with pride. His work is exceptional. From My So Called Life to Rent to so much more, he has selected roles that entertain us and inform us without being preachy. It's a tribute to his talents and his choices. There are lots of reasons to admire Mr. Cruz. His movie star beauty is the least important of them.
