Harry Roselmack will anchor the 8pm news on TF1, making history as the first non-white person to lead a mainstream, prime-time television news show in France. The 32 year-old Roselmack is from the French Caribbean island of Martinique and formerly was a reporter at Radio France. Roselmack takes the reigns in July from star presenter Patrick Poivre d'Arvor while he is on summer holiday.
Last year, President Jacques Chirac urged the media to recruit more minorities after riots by Arab and African youth. "This is like a bombshell for us," says Amirouche Laidi, president of Club Averroes, which advocates for increased minority representation in media. "A black presenting the 8pm news on the biggest television station in France."

Bravo! Bon courage!
It's terrific! Of course his face alone doesn't end the problem of
racism in France or other European
Union or Arabic countries, also.
There are many international news
programs without Blacks or persons of color.
So, for Harry Roselmack, I hope for
all the success in the world, most
especially bringing many more of his colleagues of color with him,
unlocking the worldwide doors of discrimination.
God bless Harry, a beautiful brother and brilliantly qualified man! Bravo! Be of good courage!
