Bow Wow "Plays" Gay?
So many of the boys have hoped and prayed (and/or suspected) that Bow Wow would leave Ciara for a man. It looks like that has finally happened—at least on the big screen.
There has been some buzz about a film in pre-production that stars Bow Wow as a big-time, bisexual New York drug dealer. Supposedly it's a John Singleton project and the movie is tentatively entitled Boys. Reportedly, the script is (somewhat) homoerotic and involves a gay love scene.
If the reports are true, it certainly would be a considerable risk for Bow Wow to take the role, and, he should definitely be applauded. Given John Singleton's rather formulaic directing style, we're not sure how much sensitivity he would bring to the project. But these are big "ifs" because so far, we've seen numerous discussion board and gossip items, but no official entry at IMDB or other industry websites. Possibly the movie is being kept under wraps, or, maybe it's just not happening. But we can still hope that Bow Wow will finally get his groove on.

Given BOW WOW's desire to MAN UP his little boy image, this could be a very telling role for him!
WOW if its true and odd if it isn't, like it would be someone's fantasy...but I am intrigued to see if THERESA (his Momager) would let him go that route or it this is about him and Brokeback and breaking out and establishing himself as an actor, for real.
Time will tell.

Makes me wanna go watch Spike Lee's "Get On the Bus" and fast forward to the scene where the gay guy beats the crap out of the straight guy, and dedicates his punches to Langston Hughes and James Baldwin.

So sick of gays "applauding" straight actors for playing gay, as if it's the ultimate form of validation. So reductive.
It's called "acting", and if he's good, so be it. Gays have been playing straight for years, and don't get any kudos for it, so why should he?
What would really be radical and groundbreaking, is seeing an openly gay actor actually play gay on the big screen, and not as an accessory to a gal pal.

dont you think it is weird that our society says its "risky" to play a gay person...but its totally fine to play a felon/drug dealer who is likely using major violence in the film? we are a messed up society.

Regardless of anything anyone here says. If this rumor is actually true, I applaud Bow Wow for being an adult about it and for taking this risk. It is not excepted in the hip hop community for someone to do this but at least he will be breaking away from that stereotyping and people might actually take him serious. It might be his Halle Berry moment in the spotlight. He would be playing a Bi chartacter and a thug I think Mr. Bow Wow should think this thru and I hope he does do it. I truly believe that there would be an award for his performance and admiration in the hollywood industry to take him as a serious actor. He can learn acting. ALAS Will Smith should give him some pointers this could be a break out role. Usher should think about doing this if he really wants to be a serious actor. Playing gay unfortunatley does get you notice in this industry. But I do doubt this rumor is even true people.

Keep in mind that the young man is being paid nicely for his bisexual portrayal. It has no real reflection on his actual life, other than the increased size of his wallet. There are several peeps out there that will bend over if the price is right.

i hate to break this to u kiona but when actors play characters in films or tv it doesnt mean they are the person there playing. Wentworth Miller is not really Michael Scofield and his not in prison either, Matthew Fox is not really Jack Shephard and he is not Lost and if bow wow does take this role it dont mean he is gay.

I'm not saying that Shad's gay, but I would say he isn't 100% straight ether that shaved eyebrow just screams "I like guys". Knowing that his fans are all stuck up, and most are under aged I'll say this role would slow his career down if not stop it because his fans gets any sense that he might be gay they will quit listening and watching him, and he knows this. last couple albums cried out he wants to quit, but fans won't let him. He trashed everyone last album even his own fans. His fan club is just too young and dumb to realize it. I think he'll do the movie, and be great in it because I bet it's not far from the real Shad Moss. The Bow Wow gimmick was ok, but once he got older even he sees it's time for Bow Wow to step down. His fans needs to do the same, and leave the man be. They all are not going to be his "wife" so quit fighting over something you all know your never going to get, and maybe this is why his doing this movie.
