In a few weeks, the legendary Ashford & Simpson will open the fall season at Feinstein's with songs from their new musical, “Invisible Life.” That production is based on the novel by E. Lynn Harris and will debut later this year in Washington DC. Broadway veteran George Faison will direct and auditions took place last month in Los Angeles.
“Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing: An Evening With Ashford and Simpson" will open September 12 at Feinstein's. Besides the new music, the show will feature some of their top hits, such as "I'm Every Woman," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "Solid." Personally, we are sooo excited about their cabaret act. This is probably asking too much, but is there any chance in heaven they would perform the fabulous "Bourgie Bourgie"?

If I were in NYC, I'd catch them. They are a wonderful act, have seem them many times. Wasn't too keen on the "Invisble Life" musical, but if its debuting here in DC, I would check it out. Definitely want to hear the music.
