Over the weekend, our mailbox was flooded with multiple copies of Fashion Rocks, the new fall Condé Nast "advertorial supplement". Ours was accompanied with the new Details,GQ and Vogue.
One of the more interesting editorials highlighted musicians-cum-designers. After using drop-dead models to capture the style of Missy Elliott and Gwen Stefani, the editors did something completely different in the case of Eminem and Pharrell Williams. "Maybe all the male models were busy that day," notes Shana Naomi at Planet Out's Personality Machine. "Because both are played by women, giving the whole thing a very drag king vibe." That's model Liya Kebede aka Pharrell. Maybe he won't g for the Chanel makeup, but we could definitely see his hair "styled by Malige for Frédéric Fekkai", no?
BTW: Elton John says he wants to make a hip-hop album and collaborate with PW. Maybe we will see Pharrell in some glam makeup at some point.
