Southern Voice reports the Atlanta Police Department is investigating two weekend incidents where men were reportedly attacked for being perceived as gay.
The most severe incident: Sunday morning when two black men suffered serious injuries after they were attacked by six or seven men in Southwest Atlanta. The two victims were robbed, beaten and pistol-whipped; police reports say the face of one of the victims is covered with bruises. The men told WSB-TV they were attacked because the assailants believed they were a gay couple.
Meanwhile, on Friday night, a man in North Decatur says he was pulling into his apartment complex when he asked the drivers of two cars that were blocking his parking space to move. After yelling a slur, one of the drivers reportedly "pushed [the victim] to the pavement and said ‘Get up faggot.’"
Hey Rod, thanks for the heads up. I'm in Atlanta and haven't even heard about this beating yet. I am so happy you are back, you give us so much more than what happens in New York and Noah's Arc.
I'm going to wtach the 11 o'clock news and listen for this story.
