Depends upon who you talk to. Some New York Giants fans say the latter and are convinced the team's losing streak has a lot to do with pretty boy safety Will Demps and his underwear modeling and music video appearances. At the Giants message board, an ongoing discussion charmingly entitled "Will Demps: Am I Pretty or What?" has careened from deconstructing Demps' tackling ability into debating his skin care regimen because, in the words of one fan, "the pretty ones tend to not be focused 100% on football."
First, the haterz...
"Maybe the reason Will Demps is having a rotten season and can't tackle anyone is because he's afraid he may mess up his pretty boy looks."
"He had better get some black tar and put it under the eyes and start playing hard nose Giant defense football. I cant stand that jerk off right now, still fueling from that cowgirl game. He cant cover his own a**, not to mention a WR or TE. Please drop his butt of at the covergirl shop next Sunday, because we don't and wont need him.">
Ouch. Now to Will's defenders ...
"Metrophobes!!! I once saw Demps at an abstract jazz concert. Do not judge a man who not afraid to embrace his feminine side. He takes care of himself, pampers himself, and is not ashamed of getting facials, buying grooming products and shopping."
"Don't hate the man because he looks better than you ever will. This is about football, not his fine face, his fine body, his pretty teeth, his nice skin, his abs of steel, his great lips...you get the point."
Several fans speculated upon Demps sexuality—one critic responded to the last comment, "Is that you Will?", but, that argument is just totally ridiculous because it assumes heterosexual athletes cannot be articulate, multi-lingual or in great shape. (Look here, here, here or especially here and here.) Ironically, at least two of the gay-baiters are familiar with this weblog because they linked to recent posts about Will at Rod 2.0. Sorry, boys. That's say a lot more about you than him.
