World AIDS Day 2006
Today is World AIDS Day. Here are some of the local events in Atlanta, Chicago, London, Johannesburg, San Francisco-Oakland, Washington DC and New York City.
New Delhi: Former President Bill Clinton announced a major agreement to provide cheap anti-retrovirals to children in the developing world. Two Indian pharmaceutical companies agreed to dramatically cut prices and will supply drugs for HIV-positive children at prices as low as 16 cents a day"—less than $60 a year. This allows an additional 100,000 HIV-positive children in 62 countries to receive treatment in 2007. "This is a great day, but we have a long way to go. We have to make a new commitment that every child and adult who needs treatment should have access" to the drugs," Clinton said. The Bill Clinton Foundation also donated 10,000 free doses of ARVs.
Bill Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama join CNN for a special edition of American Morning at 0600 EST.
Shanghai: The number of reported HIV/AIDS cases in China's largest city increases by 74 percent. Meanwhile, HIV-positive persons face more social and employment discrimination.

Just a thanks from someone who is poz. You really do a great job keeping focus on black gay men with HIV and just HIV in general. So many of us want to forget about it.. It's very obvious why POZ magazine recognized you for you work. You could blogging about hot boys or parties, but instead keep the focus on politics, news and our community.
Thank you.

It's quite fashionable to ignore AIDS issues among our comunity, especially among fellow black gay men. We tend to want to stigmatize each other and remain willfully ignorant. Which is why we seroconvert so high.
