Coming soon to a magazine, billboard, VGA display and television screen near you: Djimon Hounsou modeling Calvin Klein underwear.
Beginning with the Fall 2007 season, the Academy Award®-nominated actor will be featured in global print, electronic and outdoor campaigns. The actor-slash-model—well known for hitting the "steel" to achieve his muscular phsyique—will front the brand's newest product line, Calvin Klein Steel.
Djimon, who was born in Benin, says: "As a child growing up in Africa, I could have never dreamed that I would be where I am today. Representing such an iconic American brand like Calvin Klein Underwear...this carries more meaning for me than you can imagine."
Hounsou becomes the ninth man to be featured in a Calvin Klein Underwear campaign and the first actor in over a decade.
Djimon to Flaunt Flesh for Calvin Klein (Towleroad)

This threatens my agnosticism--Djimon is God's Gift. Can't wait to see the campaign.

It's about time Calvin Klein promoted some Black beauty instead of the usual Abercrombie & Fitch types.

I was really hoping that he'd win the Oscar. He's a wonderful actor and one of the most beautiful men to grace movie screens!

"God's Gift"? Djimon is proof that gods walk among us. ;-)
(Oh, and if that television screen reference means he's going to be all up in his Calvin's, moving around and talking in that sexy, rich voice of his, i think i'm going to be watching a lot more TV this Fall....)
