The Latest Talking Point
Robert Novak at The Washington Post and Sean Hannity at Fox News are among the earliest right-wing mouthpieces to accuse Sen. Hillary Clinton of falsely claiming ... to have heard Dr. Martin Luther King speak in Chicago in 1963.
Yes, 1963.
This is supposed to prove ... something. The Clinton campaign is scared and desperate to get black votes? Hillary can't be trusted? Who knows. At any rate, Novak is the same guy who leaked Valerie Plame's identity so it's no surprise he never picked up Hillary's autobiography to read the MLK story.
So many responses to choose from. Shouldn't we be discussing .... Hurricane Katrina? The thousands of deaths in Iraq? Billions diverted from health care and education to no-bid contracts for Halliburton? But if the best you people can do—the very best—is strip-mine incidents from 45 years ago to probe for contradictions, Hillary is hardly the desperate one.

Next up...let's interview Hillary's grade school classmates and try to catch her in a lie. Give me a break.

While we have lies about justification for wars, firing govt lawyers, torture, and leaking CIA operatives identities, this is what they concentrate on...unbelievable

Isn't Sean Hannity at FOX News, not MSNBC?

And yes, that's just freakin' crazy they are trying to bring up incidents from the 1960s. Good grief, is anything sacred?

This blog is very insightful for a look at gay culture and LGBT news, especialluy because I am not black and do not reside in the States, but London.
That being said, the writing on political topics is particularly delicious. "This is supposed to prove ... something." Just love it.
I'm not sure why Mrs. Clinton receives such a visceral response--people love her or hate her--but you do an excellent job of defending her. From a British vanrage point, one imagines that is your like of the Clintons, because they are extremely aggressive politicians. Not necessarily my type, but bullocks for being consistent.

I'm on the fence on Hillary Clinton. But clearly reaching back 40 plus years is extreme. Good point, if this is the best the vast right wing conspiracy can muster ...

I've hated and loved Hillary. I love to see her as President. But I'd like to see Obama as President even more.
Nuff said.
