Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama Targeted by Death Threats

The race to the White House becomes more competitive and much more dangerous. The two leading Democratic presidential candidates are now walking around with increased Secret Service protection after  being targeted by death threats.

NY1 reports authorities have arrested a first year student at Louisiana State University and charged him with planning a terrorist-style attack against Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY). Nineteen year-old Richard Wargo is being held on $1 million bond after authorities say he asked classmates to help him carry out the attack, and, they found evidence in his dorm room to back him his claims. As a former First Lady, the senator has routine Secret Service protection.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) is now under 24/7 Secret Service protection—the earliest ever for a presidential candidate—after receiving numerous racist death threats. The most recent was found on a white supremacist website and prompted the senator's campaign to request the protection. "I wished we lived in a country where that is not a problem, but it still is," says Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), an Obama confidante. said. "The fact that Barack Obama is such a highly visible African-American candidate, I think increases his vulnerability."

Obama's personal safety was the principal reason why his wife Michelle was reluctant for him to enter the race. Now, with this added security detail, a spokesperson says "the family is thankful for the protection and the peace of mind."

This is a shame, but it does not come as a surprise. I seem to recall Obama's wife's biggest fear was this scenario. This violent, racist, misogynistic country with an obsession with guns and power makes these nuts flourish.

Rush Limbaugh told us for years that the government is our enemy. Then he pretended to be upset when his ideological soulmates killed six hundred people with a bomb in Oklahoma City.

Limbaugh and Hannity have told us for years that Hillary Clinton is evil incarnate. And, possibly, they will shed a fake tear if she is assassinated.

Immediately afterwards, they will blame it on the liberals. But where do you think this kid at LSU got his ideas from?

This is a scare tactic from the other side. Their conservative hope is that Obama's fanatic followers will abstain from voting for him in hopes of preventing him from being assassinated. His wife Michelle stated in an interview on 60minutes she was not worried he would be assassinated, "because as a black man, he could be killed going to the gas station. If you are going to vote for Obama you should do it, regardless of what is released in the media.
