Instinct magazine continues to impress. In the May issue, in addition to a short feature on filmmakers Deondray Gossett and Quincy LaNear—more on that later this afternoon—there is also a stunning fashion editorial lensed by ace beefcake photographer Troy Phillips.
The nine page editorial is entitled "Rough & Ready" and employs only one model—New York-based Ainslee, not so "rough", more on the pretty boyish side, but definitely looks "ready." Striking fashions by our usual favorites, Roberto Cavalli, J. Lindberg and Dolce & Gabbana.
More hotness and fashions after the jump, plus some background on the photographer and model.
The photographer: Troy Phillips is a New York City-based artist whose portfolio includes fashion, editorial and fine art, including a stunning serious of muscular Asian men entitled "Asian and Masculine." (We reviewed the series and exhibition on Fleshbot.) On a regular basis, Troy integrates black and Latin models into his regular fashion portfolio.
Just as an aside, it's rare that Instinct devotes nine full pages to one model. It's even rarer that it's one of us, but not surprising, given last month's cover of reality star-slash-entrepreneur Carey Sherrell and the recent scorching swimwear editorial.
The model: Ainslee is represented by New York-based Q Management. The edgy boutique specializes in more athletic and diverse models and has booked many editorials for Instinct, Genre, Vibe and the like. Book him, boys ... he's a hot one.
