Coach Tony Dungy Sits Down with Anti-Gay Dr. James Dobson

Last spring, Indianapolis Colts Coach Tony Dungy—who had recently become the first black coach to win a Super Bowl—was criticized for appearing at fundraiser for a conservative Christian group that opposed gay rights and same-sex marriage.
During the off-season, Dungy's appearances with the Christian right-wing are attracting less attention. Recently the coach sat down for a three-part interview with Dr. James Dobson, the rabidly anti-gay founder of the Focus on the Family. "I've always listened to your show," the coach tells the right-wing demagogue, explaining that he has listened since the 1980s.
Dobson was so impressed with Dungy's devotion to the Focus on the Family that he promised to "set [him] up with an iPod and all of our shows."

The only reason he's getting away with it is because no blogger or activist is giving it any attention because they are still kissing his and the Colts' asses. If we want to show him that we are concerned with his views of the community, we need people to confront him more.

I was through with him in his SuperBowl victory speech when he had to point out that he and Lovie were two "Christian coaches" showing that you can win "the Lord's way". so much for the muslim players on the field....

“WITHOUT PREJUDICE?” is a new show about something many of us do...prejudge others. If you go to gsn.com/withoutprejudice you can take a GSN-Zogby national poll on prejudice to see how you stack up.

Who gives a fuck? Is anybody surprised that a black man in athletics is homophobic? Ooh, big shocker. Next.

Not so fast. Outsports.com and Indy-area bloggers have been all over Dungy the past 6 months. Check out the Dungy rants on sardonic-bomb, and Bilerico.
The problem is that his fans think WE shouldn't be mixing sports with politics and religion even though Dungy clearly is by siding with Dobson and his Indiana buddy, Eric Miller, who makes Dobson look tame.
