Mitt Romney's "Play on Words"

A candid moment on the campaign trail with Mitt Romney. TMZ.com captures one fan holding up a sign that reads, "NO TO OBAMA OSAMA AND CHELSEA'S MOMA [sic]." Amazingly, not only does the Republican presidential candidate take a picture with the spell-challenged fan, he also holds the sign.

How does the Romney campaign explain the comparing Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama to Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the most horrific terrorist incident in modern history? TPM's Election Central contacted "Romney spokesman Kevin Madden for comment, asking if it was appropriate for the candidate to hold the sign up with the woman. 'The governor stopped briefly for a picture with a supporter who just happened to be holding their own sign with an alliterative play on words,' Madden said, via e-mail. 'I don’t think it was equating or comparing anyone.' "

Liars. This has become a well-established Republican talking point—stoking racial and cultural fears to compare the senator to terrorism, based solely upon his last name, his middle name, or even more ridiculously, the presidential candidate's fashion aesthetic.

We're assuming that last line—"CHELSEA'S MOMA"—refers to Sen Hillary Clinton. Or, some unknown connection between Chelsea Clinton and the Museum of Modern Art.

This would be a race if the GOP candidate didn't do their best at racial pandering. That is ALL the GOP has to get elected, fear tactics and the android is no different from any of the others running, they ALL race bait, since they know that to get elected, they have to appeal to that group, especially in the South, where its a party of race, and not a party of anything else.

Then his wife last week, who I hade a momentary lapse of sympathy for when she said she has MS, said her husband has "southern values." Umm, he grew up in Michigan and went to school in California and was governor of Massachusetts, and he has "southern" values, more code words, and just shows that these racists will do or say anything to get into office.
