Well, that was fast. One day after Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson appeared on Meet the Press to defend a top campaign advisor and fundraiser with a criminal history of drug dealing and tax evasion—we posted this yesterday afternoon at the Huffington Post, sorry for not mentioning—the drug dealing, tax evading fundraiser (finally) steps down.
Not a good idea for presidential candidates to allow former drug dealers and tax evaders to raise substantial sums of money for their campaigns. Especially when the candidates are running on anti-drug, low tax, law and order platforms. Gotta love those Republican family values.
