Everyone pads their resumé—including preachers.
Remember when "faith-driven" Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee—the anti-gay ordained Southern Baptist preacher and former Arkansas governor who declared homosexuality was an “aberrant, unnatural and sinful lifestyle” that posed a “dangerous public risk"—claimed he was uniquely qualified to lead the war on terror because he was the "only guy on that stage with a theology degree"?
Actually, it's a bachelor of arts in religion, plus one year of seminary.

Actually, I don't think its that odd that he does not have a degree, in most Protestant faiths, all gift takes is to have "the call of the Lord" to get you into the pulpit. Otherwise, you get these over the top theologians like the Pope, who has no clue about real people or life, just books that over 500 years old to make his pronouncements. I guess my reason is a bit different, as my Pops and, little brother are preachers, although, both have divinity degrees, its "the call" that got them going.
