In an exclusive to CNN's The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, an October email from Bhutto was released where the now-deceased politician says she would hold Musharraf "responsible" for her death because his government was deliberately compromising security measures.
"I wld [sic] hold Musharraf responsible. I have been made to feel insecure by his minions, and there is no way what is happening in terms of stopping me from taking private cars or using tinted windows or giving jammers or four police mobiles to cover all sides cld (sic) happen without him."
Bhutto wrote the email to her American spokesman, Mark Siegel about two months ago and asked him to forward it to Wolf Blitzer, only to be reported if she were assassinated. Around the same time in Washington, Senate Foreign Relations Chairman and Democratic presidential candidate Joseph Biden (DE), along with Senate colleagues Patrick Leahy and Joe Lieberman, "drafted a letter to Musharraf to urge greater security precautions for Bhutto in October just a few days after the first attempt on her life after her return to Pakistan."
Earlier today, Musharraf blamed "Islamic militants" for the assassination and promised an investigation to find those responsible ... which is just as comforting as OJ Simpson's vow to "find the real killers" behind the death of Nicole Brown Simpson.
