Via Think Progress, more news on the perilous plight of the polar. Previously, Rod 2.0 has reported environmental groups want the US Fish & Wildlife Service to designate polar bears as "threatened under the Endangered Species Act" due to the melting of Arctic ice caused by global warming.
Alaska's Republican Sen. Ted Stevens, currently the target of a federal ethics investigation and probe by the FBI and IRS, opposes the designation because it would "block the development" of a natural gas pipeline in Alaska’s North Slope. The senator famous for sponsoring the costly so-called "bridge to nowhere" says the designation is "unnecessary."
"The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering listing the bear as threatened and is expected to make a decision soon. Gov. Sarah Palin has also fought the listing, arguing that existing protections are sufficient."

This is the same "pork" spender who created that bridge to nowhere, right?

thanks to Rod for including info about our collapsing Earth. Contrary to what others might say, Black folk do care about the environment!!!!! (of course, it's only common sense, since we all live on this tiny planet) . in fact, Black Enterprise in their Dec 07 issue printed a study showing black folks significantly more interested in green issues than white.
