A leading anti-gay, black evangelical radio host and the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission are demanding basketball legend Charles Barkley to apologize for comments he made to CNN's Wolf Blitzer about "fake Christians."
Barkley told Blitzer, "I think they want to be judge and jury. Like, I'm for gay marriage. It's none of my business if gay people want to get married. I'm pro-choice. And I think these Christians—first of all, they're supposed to be—they're not supposed to judge other people. But they're the most hypocritical judge of people we have in this country. And it bugs the hell out of me.
If Barkley said anything that wasn't true, he should apologize. But as far as I can see, he spoke the truth!

Good for CB, telling it like it is about these fake, hate anything alleged Christians. Good thing he is a man who speaks what he believes in and won't give them what they want. Now, if more would call out the GOP the same way, and, those alleged black preachers they are paying to spew hate. They can get back to me when they are ready to deal with real issues in the black community, and, Lord knows there are many, and, without having a need for money for the building fund to do so.

The single MOST interesting part of this is to have these people in such an upstart about FAKE CHRISTIANS! I wouldn't have been offended by that if I wasn't a fake Christians. He said something that was very particular and he didn't blanket all of Christianity. But if he said it and it applied, then BAM!
I mean, seriously, how do you get offended if you are not really harboring hatred when Christians are called to love.
In this season of Tim Hardaway's bigotry and John Amaechi's coming out, it's nice to meet a baller who has used his life and time to grow into a full and progressive human being!
WAY TO GO BROTHER BARKLEY!

Ok, I loved CB in the other thread, now I wants to marry him! Or Strahan.....

I see nothing in what he said. How many times have the fake Christian community and the Christian community in general have defamed and spoken negative things about the gay community, and other ethnic groups on the world. What about the Radical Christians who defamed Heath Ledger after he died, and the many men and woman who fight for our freedom in Iraq. Why don't we peruse an apology from them for those type of remarks. All in all it is called FREEDOM OF SPEECH, and he was well in his "RIGHT". YOU GO C.B.

Funny how straight men always state the line about "it's none of their business" when referring to the gay(male) lifestyle. Maybe if had stated he was indifferent or had no opinion on gay marriages then that remark would sound appropriate. Nonetheless, it seems he has joined the revolution and eased up on being such a homophobe.
