Several weeks ago Rod 2.0 previewed American Idol 6's Jenry Bejarano and superermodel-in-training Ibrahim Baaith in the latest issue of FLAUNT, the edgy Los Angeles-based fashion bible whose almost-monthly editorials featuring black and Latino models and actors have become required reading. Thanks to the FLAUNT's NYC offices, here is preview of the magazine's upcoming issue that features model Oraine Barrett.
The dark and lovely Jamaican-born Oraine is also currently seen on the cover of the summer double issue of OUT and in VIBE. However, you will notice that in the OUT and VIBE editorials, as is often the case, Oraine's distinctive facial scar has been retouched. The FLAUNT editors decided not to airbrush the scar. Speaking for me personally, it refreshing to see some honesty in the fantasy-driven fashion industry. Oraine is a beautiful man. A modeling agent and a photographer have told me the story behind the scar, and, it's very touching.
The edgy fashion editorial is entitled "Uptown Downtown" and was lensed by Sam Bassett, the New York City-based conceptual artist, filmmaker and photographer. FLAUNT's Long Nguyen who styled the Jenry Bejarano, Haaz Sleiman and the go-go god editorials, returns as style director.
Oraine models the "uptown" look of the editorial and is perfectly styled in Tom Ford, Versace, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, and Boss Selection, the newish brand from Hugo Boss. Oraine is seen above in glen plaid suit, cashmere deep V-neck sweater, cotton button-down shirt, silk tie, and cotton pocket square by Thom Brown. A fashionable take on a classic look.
Oraine Barrett is represented by New York City-based Major Models, who also reps Rod 2.0 faves such as Chad White, Joshua Sarrazola and Marcus Hill.

Rod, I've never asked you, how do you get the Flaunt previews first? I've only seen them on Rod 2.0 and Towleroad.
The magazine is beautiful, I must add. I jus started subscribing to it.
