More colorful details emerge on the extreme politics of Sarah Palin, the anti-gay, social conservative former small town Alaska mayor turned first term governor tapped for the number two spot on the Republican ticket. In an brand new interview released by Newsmax, the conservative news source, Palin was asked for her "take on global warming and how is it affecting our country."
"A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location," Palin says and adds, "I’m not one though who would attribute it to being man-made."
NASA, the National Academy of Sciences and the United Nations disagree. The United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is more than 90 percent certain that human activity was "very likely" the cause of global warming.
Jarid Manos, the environmental advocate and author of Ghetto Plainsman, adds that Palin is "no moderate environmentalist" and actually wrote an op-ed in The New York Times arguing that it was the "wrong move" to list the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act. When the Bush Administration announced its listing of the polar bear as a threatened species, Palin sided with corrupt, indicted and anti-gay Sen. Ted Stevens and filed a lawsuit seeking to reverse the decision.
Why waste time debating Palin's experience. Do we even want someone this extreme one heartbeat away from John McCain's 72-year-old heart?

HOW DARE McCain, Rove and whoever else dreamed up this doozy. This is cynical, desperate, insulting and downright dangerous - and NO LONGER FUNNY. The pundits are trying to calculate how risky this is to McCain's candidacy but neglect to mention that this stroke of "maverick" maneuvering has put every one of us at risk. The inexperienced Alaskan ex-beauty queen could have her finger on THE BUTTON. What scares me is that in this country, this obvious political stunt is just stupid enough to work.

The intriguingly ridiculous part about The Honorable Mrs. Palin is that she is from ALASKA, a state which has parts of itself LITERALLY MELTING AWAY. I have seen so many small towns and places in Alaska that are watching their coastline drip away and even remember a town in "AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH" in Alaska where the townspeople were going to have to move away (many already were) in the next FEW years.
Between this, her extremist stances on equal rights for all, the environment, the economy and women's rights, I think that Senator McCain is hoping that her "youth" and vitality, coupled with the Mom Factor might skew those voters who still want a woman, period.
The debate of is America more prepared to embrace A WOMAN AS VICE PRESIDENT versus A BLACK MAN AS PRESIDENT is really interesting.
The stuff of America and what people really say and think (REMEMBER: "HILLARY, IRON MY SHIRTS" banner held up at a rally!!!!) about women and Blacks and people behind their respective closed doors.
Thanks, Rod 2.0, for keeping us up on the news!
Appreciatively!!!
