Obama Debuts New Commercial Attacking McCain on Economy
The Barack Obama campaign debuts a harder-hitting contrast to John McCain on the economy. The new 30 second television spot "Seven" hits swing state markets and takes aim at John McCain's disconnect with the recession. The "seven" refers to the number of homes owned by the Arizona Republican. With seven houses and those many millions from Cindy's fortune, it's no wonder Mac believes "the fundamentals of the economy are strong."
FWIW, we'll be much more comfortable when Obama and his campaign deliver some stronger blows and re-frames the image of McCain as a principled, "maverick", "straight-talker." Obama continues to lead McCain in some national polls—but barely. The NBC/WSJ poll has Obama leading 45-42 and CBS News also has Obama leading 45-42.
Thanks RYAN

i dont get this ad..
obama is seriously going to have to get as dirty as mccain if he intends to win in november..
these weak ass campaign commercials aren't doing it..really, they aren't at all.
I just dont know what to say..this ad should have been televised MONTHS ago when obama first had the chance to attack mccain over his economic policies..
this ad gets a C- from me

Meh. It's better than that commercial with the windmills that keeps interrupting the Olympics. Frankly, I've given up on Obama attacking McCain. Obama has my vote, that is for certain, I just am not seeing any significant movement.

This is not what I call hard hitting. It is very subtle. I am not sure how well subtle works at this stage but I was very glad Obama pointed out McCain's seven houses.

Obama campaign has millions more than McCain, the media eating out of his hands and is leading McCain by only THREE POINTS?? Where is this landslide we were promised. I have seen no evidence. This is going to be a close election we need to tell everyone to vote.

trevor: that's it.
obama pointed out mccain's seven houses yet didnt focus on mccain's weak economy policies and mccain's short memory on his past allegiance to bush in that regard?
yet, mccain has poked holes through A LOT of obama's platforms..
obama needs to get BUCK with it..i mean, he's a politician and if he's intending to "win" in november, he better come out swinging next time.
Go hard or go home (c) Wendy Williams would be THE BEST course of action for Barack right now..election coming up in two months...
he needs to GO HARD or GO HOME

Great advice Ryan but the Democrats rejected the one candidate who would have slammed McCain and Bush on a daily basis. And speaking of Hillary Clinton, Rod it's very curious you neglected to mention the other major findings of the NBC/WSJ poll. Clinton polls stronger against McCain than Obama.

Rod you need to come clean with your anti McCain and anti Republican bias. Every day you criticize McCain and the Republicans. This blog used to be balanced.
Let us not forget the Republican Party is the party of Lincoln who freed the slaves. Freedmen flourished in Reconstruction under Republicans. Former slaves were elected to the senate and as governor as Republicans. Brown v Topeka Bd of Ed was decided under Eisenhower and by Republican Earl Warren. The Republicans passed the 1964 Civil Rights Act. More blacks owned homes under Reagan. George W. Bush appointed Colin Powell and Condi Rice as secretaries of state, the highest blacks ever to serve in a cabinet.
These are far more substantial accomplishments than were achieved by blacks under your precious Clintons.

These gay white Republicans need to stop the lies and trolling. They come to this page wanting to look at black men and expect us not to have an opinion.
First of all, of course this site is pro-Obama and Democratic, it is a liberal blog and says so. Secondly, the Republicans freed the slaves eons ago and that was a different time and party. Third, Eisenhower fought against segregation when? Not when he was the allied commander and absolutely not as president. The entire story about civil rights act is just wrong, it was passed by a coalition of mostly Democrats and passed by a Democratic president. If I recall, Goldwater was running in 1964 and very opposed to its passage.
It's really sad if your best arguments for McCain depend upon history and events that are decades old.

McCain and the republicans pick up their club around election time and bash the nearest gay person, then, predicably, the conservatives nut jobs get all giddy and vote for them. It's worked in the past, like the old adage goes,"If it ain't broke don't fix it."
Having said that GWM, screw ancient republican history but thanks for the lesson. Unless someone's plannin to shackle me up again, your point is quite silly considering recent republican history of gay baiting and bashing to forward their own evil agenda.
I'll never get you gay republicans. But that's your right.
And Derrick Foss: I'm not sure I would say "of course" this site is pro Obama. Pro Democrat, yes. He just happens to be at the top of the ticket, and the republican alternative is bone-chilling. Also, if I went on Towleroad and someone accused me of trolling to look at white boys, well, hell hath no fury baby. Nuff said.
