The CBC reports on Monday evening the singer became "suddenly ill during the sound check" before her concert and was rushed to hospital. The cancellation was announced "to concertgoers just five minutes before opening act L.L. Cool J was set to begin his performance."
There are no details on the illness but reportedly the 42-year-old Jackson was discharged about two hours after she had checked in. That's definitely good news.
This is Janet Jackson's first tour in seven years. Jackson released her latest album, Discipline, in March and launched her international Rock Witchu tour in Vancouver earlier this month. Last week, Jackson cancelled her Detroit concert a day before it was to take place and cited "production constraints." That event was rescheduled for late October. The Montreal event will also be rescheduled.
Janet Jackson is scheduled to perform at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston on Wednesday. No word yet the status of that event.
