Via Outsports is another disgusting story of racist and homophobic abuse by English soccer fans. The latest venom was directed at Sol Campbell—a black soccer player who is not gay but taunted by anti-gay and racist insults, and, a deplorable song claiming he was HIV positive.
The former [Tottenham] Spurs captain faced a barrage of abuse from Tottenham fans during a match with Portsmouth on Sunday.
A large bunch of terrace thugs sang: "Sol, Sol, wherever you may be, You’re on the verge of lunacy, And we don’t give a f*** if you’re hanging from a tree, You Judas c*** with HIV."
The 34-year-old has been taunted over claims he is gay since he left the north London club for Arsenal – despite having a string of girlfriends.
Campbell has repeatedly denied he is gay and says the rumors—and insults—began when he left Tottenham to play for a rival team. An organization of gay football fans blasted the homophobic fans. "Such treatment of footballers is completely unacceptable and is one of the main reasons why there are no out gay professional footballers."
They are right. Justin Fashanu, who was black, was the only British football star who came out as openly gay. That was in 1990. Fashanu suffered vile homophobic abuse from football fans and players, and, tragically took his own life on May 2, 1998.

Hmmm,
Campbell and a few of these footballers are known for being gay.....it's sad but you know what you're entering.
The way he walked off the pitch during a GAME when he was at Arsenal was...soo not good-esp the rumor was that he'd broken up with this other player...
It's not good but they pick on anyone and his colour is the easiest thing...
