Wanda Sykes, the openly gay actress and comedienne, adds "mother" to her skill set. The New Adventures of Old Christine star who roasted President Barack Obama at the White House Correspondents Dinner last week, and her wife Alex, welcomed twins on April 27, reports Usmagazine.com.
"Alex gave birth to the couple's first children, daughter Olivia Lou and son Lucas Claude. Olivia weighed 6 lbs., 7 oz., and was 19 inches long. Lucas was born at 7 lbs., 9 oz., and was an inch taller than his sister. 'All are happy and healthy and at home,' Sykes' rep told Us."
Sykes met her partner in 2006 and the two married on Oct. 25, 2008 in California. Last November, the actress publicly came out at an anti-Proposition 8 rally in Las Vegas. Over the weekend, Sykes became the first openly gay person to emcee the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. FOX News and conservative talking heads have expressed outrage over her comedy routine.
UPDATE: Read the Usmagazine.com comments. Many are blatantly racist and homophobic, such as "Why is almost everyone in Hollywood a sexual deviant!" and "What a disgusting dike!"
Huge congratulations to Miss Wanda and her wife Alex on this milestone in thier lives!
USmagazine, that was pretty vile, but, some of the racist comments were the same I have read on mainstream gay run sites when black folks appear, good works or not, racism is alive and well in 2009.

And those comments are despicable but unfortunately par for the course when a black LGBT person is in the mainstream news. What a shame.
