"Former Republican Vice Presidential nominee and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin also recently resigned fom office. Must be a new Republican 'strategy'."

Actually, that's right. Palin, and maybe now Martinez, along with representatives of the Air Force, various evangelical churches, and white supremacist groups, are all meeting in northern Idaho someplace where they're mapping out the upcoming coup.

Cincy

Rod: Okay we get it! We understand you do not like Republicans or conservative! Is there any good news you will report Republicans or will you continue with the usual liberal "trash the GOP' at every opportunity?

This blog and the other big gay blogs constantly shill for Democrats. Let me see your precious Obama and the Democratic Party push for marriage equality!

And shouldn't you report on the diversity of views within the gay Black community? I am tired of the Republican bashing on this blog.

soulbrotha

Well Cincy, when the Rethuglicans do something constructive instead of racist-fueled demands for Obama's birth certificate, racist-fueled accusations against Sonya Sotomayor, racist-fueled "jokes" toward the Black president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, holding up racist Rush Limbaugh as their leader or stop taking bribes from Big Pharma and insurance companies to use underhanded tactics to destroy Obama's healthcare plan, then MAYBE someone will have something good to say about them. Until then, shove it.

Derrick from Philly

" We understand you do not like Republicans or conservative!"

We? Who is we? Steele, Keyes an you?

Seriously, CINCY, we have a few black Republicans here in Philadelphia. They always seem kinda' peculiar. I guess they're frustrated & lonesome, you know. Well, that's their choice, it's not their orientation.

Carlos

Cincy are you a white gay Republican or a black gay Republican? Just wondering which self hatred you are coming from.

Oh and I think when there is good news from Republicans ii is reported. But there isn't much. Snowe and Collins are co-sponsoring ENDA, Martinez voted for Sotomayor, but these are few and far between.

"Martinez has opposed even basic equality legislation like ENDA or bullying laws that would protect both gay and straight youth." The man has a ZERO RATING. Many GOPers do. First you conservative pals need to support basic rights. And holding Obama and/or Democrats up to the marriage standard is inappropriate and you know it. But many Dems (and some Repubs) do support marriage, as we saw in NH, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Iowa, California ... the New York governor.

smh

Chitown Kev

@Cincy

What a 'effin tool you are. Rod did report in a positive way on Ted Olson and his handling of the federal marriage suit. He also gave thumbs up to Lindsay Graham for voting to confirm Sotomayor to the Supreme Court.

And those stories are just in the past week. Tool.

Osiris

Don't feed the trolls, people. Just ignore Cincy. Obviously, this person read one story and completely ignored all the other stories Rod has reported.

Besides, even if Rod *wasn't* being unbiased, the blog is called "Rod 2.0," not "whatyouwanttoseemetype 2.0." If you don't like what you see here, type another website in the address bar at the top of your page. Problem solved, stress relieved. Good day.

Ravenback

And President Obama hasn't had an easy ride on Rod 2.0. He has been heavily criticized for his inaction on ending DADT. He has been heavily cursed for his Justice Department's offensive defense of DOMA in court. And so on. But let's get some facts straight, Cincy. The conservative view is not the prevailing view in the black community or even in the black LGBT community. It isn't even a significant minority viewpoint. Those are facts. View past election results. I think it is quite safe to say that most people on this blog are grateful that the idiotic conservative viewpoint doesn't reign supreme here. Go to Drudge, Red State, or listen to limp Limbaugh if you want that type of talk. Where do these idiots like Cincy come from? They seem to pop out from nowhere.

Cincy

@ Soulbrotha..."When the Rethuglicans do something constructive instead of racist-fueled demands for Obama's birth certificate"

Oh please. I am a gay black man and even I have questions about Obama's so called "birth certificate". I'm from Missouri the Show Me State!

@ Chitown.."He also gave thumbs up to Lindsay Graham for voting to confirm Sotomayor to the Supreme Court." And you are PROUD OF THAT?

We need more black gay voices. I am tired of the Obama Pelosi Reid Clinton lovefest here. None of them support marriage equality! And Rod get your facts "straight"...Mel Martinez did vote for hate crimes!

Chitown Kev

I never said that I was proud of it troll. I mentioned that Rod presented Graham in a positive light because of it, thereby proving your statement that Rod only present Rethugs in a negative light FALSE!

Now, I don't where you see an "Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton lovefest" but it ain't here at Rod 2.0, as Ravensback pointed out.

mjolnir202

Please don't feed the trolls like Cincy. Once people go on the whole Obama birth certificate tirade, it's a pretty good bet that rational thinking is not a character trait.

As for Mel Martinez, I would say good riddance, but he'll just be replaced by something just as bad. Like many South Florida Cubans, his idea of freedom ends at the end of his nose. He left a repressive communist regime, but had no problem repressing gay people in this country. Amazing. The worst kind of person.

Ravenback

@ Cincy

So what that you're black. A black slave exposed Nat Turner's plans to poison white folks. A black woman stabbed Martin Luther King, Jr. Black men assassinated Malcom X. Clarence Thomas is black. So what's your point exactly?

Jim

I come home late from work, and I can’t help myself. I just have to express my appreciation for some of the brilliant and hilarious comments on this post. From the top:

soulbrotha: Your whole comment was a perfectly constructed, angry gem.

Derrick of Philly: “I guess [the black Republicans are] frustrated and lonesome, you know. Well, that’s their choice, it’s not their orientation.” LOL. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

Carlos: “Cincy, are you a white gay Republican or a black gay Republican? Just wondering which self-hatred you are coming from.” Maybe my favorite remark. I’ve wondered the same thing of quite a few I’ve met.

Osiris: “...type another website in the address bar at the top of your page. Problem solved, stress relieved.” I suspect Cincy craves stress.

mjohnir202: “Once people go on the whole Obama birth certificate tirade, it’s a pretty good bet that rational thinking is not a character trait.” Understatement of the day.

Ravenback: “So what that you’re black. A black slave exposed Nat Turner’s plans to poison white folks. A black woman stabbed Martin Luther King Jr. Black men assassinated Malcom X. Clarence Thomas is black. So what’s your point exactly?” LOL. Love the casual parallel between assassins, stabbers, traitorous slaves, and Clarence Thomas. The only difference is that Clarence Thomas has caused a lot more suffering than any of the others.

I love you all.

kayman

Hmmm, Mr. "Face of South Florida Cubans" is going away? Oh darn, I'm going to miss hearing his bullcrap and tirades about how bad gays are. Well, Florida never leaves anybody on the socially progressive end of the pendeleum surprised, so don't be shocked if we see the closet case Charlie Crist in the US Senate come 2012.
