While Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay breezed through their qualifiers for the 100 meter competition at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin, Jamaican Asafa Powell barely qualified.
Powell, the former world record holder, "showed no signs of being the experienced runner he is when he eased down well beyond the finishing line, after getting a super start and just did enough to get the third spot in 10.38," reports World Track.
Powell's sloppy performance was particularly troublesome because earlier this week he was threatened with expulsion from the team after skipping training. Reuters adds: "Powell [had] to anxiously wait before a collective sigh of relief swept through the Olympic stadium with results confirming his spot in the next round."
Powell is seen below with Morocco's Aziz Ouhadi, who was nipping dangerously close to his heels throughout the entire race and came in fourth at 10.40. WHEN YOU JUMP, much more of Asafa Powell and the Aziz Ouhadi hotness.

Dayumn! Both of these men are gorgeous. And what is up with Asafa Powell? Skipped training, a huge fuss was made over him and now he barely qualifies? Not the best time for the former fastest man in the world. Phbbbt.
And more of Mr. Aziz Ouhadi please!

Reminds me of my college days. Track athletes were my specialty. So fine, tight, and shapely.
