Oregon's Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley introduces a fully inclusive version of the Employment Nondiscrimination Act in the Senate today, making it "the first time a trans-inclusive version of the bill has been introduced in that chamber." The other Senate sponsors are Edward Kennedy (D-MA), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME). The Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee, which is chaired by Kennedy and Merkley is a member, will hold hearings on the legislation.
Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) introduced the House version in late June.
