Singer-songwriter of the moment Ne-Yo is the talk of Minneapolis after his recent appearance at Macy's Glamorama. Unfortunately much of buzz is around his on-air gum popping and less around his fashion aesthetic, notes Star-Tribune columnist C.J.
Ne-Yo spends too much time cultivating a look to have it marred by chewing gum. But there the singer-songwriter was Friday night at the Glamorama after-party, taking pictures with fans, trying to dance like Fred Astaire, all the while chomping on gum. Gum chewing is incompatible with donning the hat and the glasses and the nice suit and the shoes, Ne-Yo. Gum chewing minifies the sophisticated style you so studiously attempt to convey.
What did Coco Chanel famously say? "Look in the mirror and remove one accessory." For Ne-Yo, those accessories would be chewing gum and lip gloss. 'Cause, you know, Ne-Yo has said several time he is not gay. Definitely not gay.

It's always so funny to me how some of these artists go out of their way to deny that they're gay, but constantly exhibit behavior and mannerisms that make you go hmmmmm. I guess that's why they call it entertainment. Being fake and playing roles.

No shade, I am no fan of Ne-Yo, but I am missing the lip gloss. Ne-Yo's lips are naturally pink. If anything, he might be wearing a bit of Chapstick, Burt's Bees, or some freshly applied saliva. Mediatakeout is the fool; the same site that called Fantasia a runway slave.
Acting a certain way or looking a certain way doesn't necessarily make someone gay. In fact, the two shouldn't even coincide with sexual orientation. As far as him chewing gum, Miss Star Tribune, BOOM! This isn't the 18th century. If he wants to ravenously chew gum and give the girls English Dandy teas, so be it.

Everyone sees the lip gloss but you but you, child? No shade but maybe you should trade up to a flat screen monitor? Oh and upgrade to Windows XP? BOOM!
