Otis

Doin' my best Florida Evans...DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!

Yes Rod, with his presence and outstanding background, he represented black lgbts very well. He has a bright future ahead of him.

Ravenback

I voted for him, but I guess it wasn't his time right now. He will always be my hero because he put himself out there and refused to hide in a closet. Anthony Woods is a very appealing future politician who correctly pointed out that we need to stop sending the same old politicians to Congress. I hope he continues to fight his causes in whatever way he thinks he can best contribute. And don't give up on representing the 10th district in California. Garamendi, who will most likely win the runoff election in November, is not a spring chicken. He also had aspirations to be Governor of California. So this seat could open up again in a few years.

@ Otis

My sentiments exactly. Maybe next time.

Gdub

Awhh!! Well the cutie has my vote and I am a Texan!! He can call me if he needs consoling!

Chitown Kev

This is only the beginning for Anthony Woods, I suspect. This is far from the last that we've heard from him.

Bill

@ Chitown Kev. Amen- we need leaders like Anthony Woods in Congress and elsewhere, too. I happily supported his campaign from DC, and am looking forward to his next step forward.

CC

He is still a winner in my book, and I have victory cake waiting for him here!

Isis

He still went for it and that says a lot. How many people NEVER try at all. I hope he gives it a another go. Best of Luck to him.

TheRevKev

@CHITOWN KEV! I am with you! This is a launchpad moment and I trust that we are going to hear great things from this young, talented, brave, committed, brilliant brother!

Rod, thanks for shining this national light on this regional leader. His next step will be the real telling moment for him. I pray his strength and his relentless fire to issues lands with a cause worthy of his skills.

sean

DAMN!

James M

Wow that sucks! He would have been great to that community. He's only just beginning, he can come to Michigan and run things because Detroit needs all the help it can get!

ReggieH

As California's Governator says: He'll be back!

Jamel Smith

Woods is a hero. He will continue to influence many others.

John Ozed

Sad, but there's hope. Obama struck out when he first went to bat too.

MiamiMike

I think voters thought he was to much to vote for! Black,Gay,Democrat, was in the military" eventhough obamas our president it does not mean every black person that runs for office will win. I can't wait to see what happens to Kendrick meeks here in Florida now that he's running for Sennett. Florida is a strange flipflop state so well see. Miami is very democratic though"

CC d'Afrique du Sud

dust yourself off and try again... RIP Aaliyah...

iDella*Belle*

BUT HE HAS NOT LOST THE MOST IMPORTANT VOTE....THE ONE THAT HOLDS THE OFFICE STRAIGHT TO MY HEART....TELL HIM I WANT HIS COOKIES AND WE WILL STORM THE POLITICAL WORLD!
