There is an arrest for a second anti-gay hate crime attack on New York's Long Island. Nassau County Police say they arrested a Bellmore teen on hate crime charges who was part of a knife-wielding duo "yelling anti-gay slurs" that chased a man down the street, reports the Long Island Press.
Frank Carney, 16, was charged with menacing as a hate crime for and aggravated harrassment allegedly harassing a 22-year-old man on Alice Avenue. The man was approached by a dark colored Nissan whose occupants were yelling anti-gay slurs, according to 1st Squad detectives. The vehicle stopped and two men, one of whom was yielding a knife, got out and chased the victim. The victim ran to a nearby house and rang the doorbell, and the suspects got back in the Nissan and fled the scene. The victim was not injured. Carney was arraigned Saturday morning at First District Court in Hempstead.
The Bellmore arrest comes days after a more serious incident on Halloween. One man has been arrested and two others are being sought in the brutal anti-gay beating and robbery of two suspected gay men in Lakeview. "Twenty-three-year-old Robert Bellamy Jr is accused of punching one of the victims in the face and then—along with the two other suspects—punching the second victim in the head and face, knocking him to the ground and calling him a "faggot" during the assault, police said. All three suspects reportedly kicked the victim in the stomach and stole $7 from his pockets before fleeing." Bellamy tells police "God" made him hate gays.

Another episode of "As the Stomach Churns". It never ends.

Yes, and where are the Larry Johnson defenders? It was okay when LJ said "faggot" ciz he is a chamillionaire, but I guess it's not when teens do the same thing and kick gays in the stomach?
My heart aches for these people because they were hurt and could have bene killed. It's the churches that teach this is okay and society cosigns. And we black people, black gay men, are allowing ourselves to be victims by not fightng back, speaking out or especially not coming out. Sitting back and watching is helping them do this to us.
