Under pressure from network executives, CNN host Lou Dobbs announced his immediate departure from his television home of the past 30 years. Dobbs show gradually became identified with anti-immigrant views and in recent months he has hosted anti-Obama birther conspiracists.
Dobbs was vague about his departure on-air but cited "strong winds of change" as forcing the decision. Says Media Matters, who took the lead role to pressure CNN to dump Dobbs: "This is a happy day."
Why do we get the feeling Dobbs will soon head to FOX News or run for office? Watch AFTER THE JUMP ...

He's running for office. Clearly.

I liked Lou Dobbs! I agree with him on a lot of the immigrant issues. Why can't we have fair and balanced news and not the "either all GOP or all Liberal" news??? I guess I'll just tune into Anderson Cooper from now on.

Bravo to CNN for basically telling Lou "kick rocks you old grumpy jerk".

What Quest said. I used to like Lou's independence and common man on the street pov, but he became far right. Good riddance.

Now cnn can go back to their pure left wing ideology.

I used to find him independent. However, his white robe started to show. Bye bye.

He'll be on Fixed in the next month, and making way more than he ever made at CNN and those who like him will tune in with huge ratings, Dobb's and his hate are not going away at all, ugh.

In my eyes, Lou Dobbs has always struck me as a conflicted figure. He is xenophobic yet married to a Hispanic woman. He claims to be independent yet he was always a hardline conservative (beyond the fiscal realm). The list goes on.
I would watch his show occassionally when bored, but he was just too conflicted for me to get what he was pushing for. He think we all should just pray for his conflicted soul because he is the epitome of an oxymoron.
