Former Tennessee congressman Harold Ford Jr is considering a primary challenge to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and is somewhat surprised that many New Yorkers do not welcome his anti-gay and anti-choice record. The Democratic Leadership Council chairman huffed to the New York Times that he will not be "bullied" out of entering the race.
Meanwhile: NARAL releases the first attack ad that targets the staunchly "pro life" Ford, where he repeatedly slams choice ("I was never pro-choice!") and demands the Republicans introduce a law outlawing abortion. Watch it WHEN YOU JUMP....

Unfortunately for Mr. Ford, the recent gay marriage double-cross by NY Senate Democrats will energize voters to not be complacent about his anti-gay, pro-life agenda. Maybe he should keep going north and try for Chris Dodd's Connecticut seat. At least the gay marriage thing won't be an issue there...it's already legal.

I can't stand this guy, I hope he's never voted back into office again.

Why doesn't he just run as a GOP guy, since he tows that party line more than the Dem's.

He's a creep, plain and simple.

... Because Democrats are starting to act as if they are more moderate to conservative by their voting on some measures and he's hoping to capitalize on that.
There's currently a conservative backlash happening and its gonna REALLY be evident later this year. He's only doing what the Dems are already showing themselves, even in more liberal states.

I hope Ford does run. Maybe he and Gillibrand will split the conservative, Phonycrat vote, and Tasini will win.
