Shani Davis wins his second straight gold medal in the men’s 1,000-meter Olympic speedskating at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Davis is the world champion in that event and defended the title he won four years ago in Turin, when he became the first black athlete to win an individual gold medal at the Winter Games.
Mo Tae-bum of South Korea took the silver Wednesday, 18-hundredths of a second behind Davis' winning time of 1:08.94. Chad Hedrick of Team USA won the bronze in 1:09.32.
Congrats to Shani. On to the 1500m ...

Wonderful!! I also think this is the first time in a while (ever?) that we've had a repeat winner in this event at the Olympics as well.
