Democratic Reps. James Clyburn (SC) and Elijah Cummings (MD) appeared this morning on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports. You will recall that House Majority Whip Clyburn, the third ranking Democrat in the House, and Cummings were subjected to vile, racist heckling over the weekend by right-wing anti-government protesters. Both scoffed at Republican attempts to characterize the incidents as "isolated."
Says Majority Whip Clyburn: "I just could not believe my ears. I would hope the people who invited those groups here would denounce that behavior and be sure they don't conduct themselves at any time in the future. It cannot be separated from the Republican Party when you have Republican members ... applauding them from the balcony as they try to disrupt proceedings."
Clyburn, who led the first sit-in demonstrations in South Carolina, says the protesters' language was just as ugly as in 1960 when he "was marching to try and get off the back of the bus."
Watch it AFTER THE JUMP ...
Thanks @WinterThur!

This is the direction the conversation should go now. I hope this stays in the spotlight and uncovers all the racist politicans and their behavior.

It would be nice Diva1961, but, the whole thing is getting little to no play by the msm or blogs, most people just don't seem to care, which is why the ilk of this group continues to grow and fester.
