TVyNovelas, which is considered Latin American's leading tabloid devoted to telenovelas, is reporting that Eduardo Verástegui and Ricky Martin were once an item. Verástegui is the former Mexican boybander and model who acted in a number of novelas and became a star—much with the help of a huge Latin American gay fanbase. The Chasing Papi star later became a born-again Christian, right-wing Republican and heavily campaigned for Proposition 8 to California's Latinos. "The gays MADE Eduardo Verástegui," writes Andrés Duque. "And in return he stabs them in the back."
Oh and just like in Ricky Martin's case, certain rumors have followed Verástegui for many years.
Watch Verástegui push for matrimonio tradicionale in his spot for "Yes on 8", WHEN YOU JUMP ....

The Ex-Gay movement is becoming more dangerous and problematic to LGBT Latino communities as well.
I wish there was some backlash against Latinos during Prop 8. It would've distributed the blame "evenly".

I wouldn't be surprised. Some of our biggest enemies are those who are deeply closeted or "ex-gay". If you are not out in the open, then I really don't trust you. All the LGBT folks in my life are open and honest about who they are. No hidden agendas. That's how I choose to conduct my life.

You can run (to the right), but you can't hide.

Yeah, Eduardo being gay was always the word out of Latin America.
When there's smoke there's fire, 99% of the time.
I saw this story coming a mile away.
He's gorgeous, but he's a hypocrite.

Yeah, I think there is something going on with him, too. He does seem a little obsessed about "teh gays." See: Ashburn, Roy; Craig, Larry, et al ....
