Making his first public appearances since publicly coming out of the closet, Ricky Martin "received a standing ovation" when he walked on stage at last night's Billboard Latin Music Awards in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The entertainer went off-script to denounce SB1070—Arizona's outrageous new anti-illegal-immigration law.
"This is not in the script. I want to send a warm greeting to all our Latin America friends who live in the State of Arizona. SB1070 is a law that doesn't make sense. You are not alone. We are with you. Stop discrimination. Stop hate. Stop racism. Enough already. Long live love. Long live peace. And now let the music continue."

In related news: Colombian superstar Shakira flew to Phoenix to meet with Mayor Phil Gordon, who is spearheading a lawsuit against the new law.

Kudos to Ricky Martin and I am with my Latino Brothers and Sisters with this fight! I believe that immigration is growing out of control but this mess that they put together in AZ is a sh-tty mess!
