President Obama appeared on Good Morning America and slammed right-wing Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell's revisionist proclamation of Confederate History Month that neglected to mention slavery. McDonnell said slavery was an 'insignificant" component of the Civil War.
Says the President: "You can't understand the history of the Confederacy and the Civil War without understanding slavery. That's unacceptable."
Watch the President AFTER THE JUMP ...

Spoken like the true diplomat he is. Kudos, Mr. President.
However, CNN's Roland Martin said it best:
"I will never, under any circumstances, cast Confederates as heroic figures who should be honored and revered. No, they have been, and forever will be, domestic terrorists."
