Sen. Al Franken introduces the Student Non-Discrimination Act to protect LGBT students from harassment, bullying or bias. There are 21 co-sponsors.
Such a law would have helped Constance McMillen who sued her Mississippi school district after it canceled prom rather than allow her to bring a female date, reports the ACLU.
A similar bill introduced in the House in January by Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO) has over 100 co-sponsors.








Franken is an advocate for the average citizen in the US Senate.
I was glad to see him elected.
I also enjoy his books. He presents political observations in a humorous way.
