Jay Leno has much more to worry about than Dave Letterman. The Tonight Show host was supposed to be the headliner at last night's White House Correspondents' Dinner. But the comedian who killed was the opening act—President Barack Obama.
"I am glad that the only person whose ratings fell more than mine last year is here tonight," the President joked. "Great to see you Jay. I'm also glad that I'm speaking first. We've all seen what happens when somebody takes the time slot after Leno's."
The President also mentioned Sen. John McCain's recent claim that he was not "identified" as a maverick. "And we know what happens in Arizona when you don't have an ID. ... Adios amigos."
Leno bombed, according to most critics, delivering several jokes about the Obamas, Sarah Palin and "Don't Ask Don't Tell." Watch the clips AFTER THE JUMP ...








I saw part of the Dinner on C-SPAN last night and thought that NBC is already drawing up a contract for The Prez to do a late night show after his term is over...
