CNN does a short but informative survey on the status of gay rights around the world, visiting Havana, Johannesburg, Berlin, London, Delhi and Nairobi.
David Kuria of the Gay and Lesbian Coalition of Kenya says there is some progress in his nation but "arrests of gays happens every day. Successful prosecutions are rate though. People are frightened but there are able to have some support in their community. Outside there is still much hostility, though."
At AIDS 2010 in Vienna we interviewed a number of African LGBT/HIV activists, including several Kenyans. Most were hopeful about progress made in Kenya. Watch the clip WHEN YOU JUMP ...
