Joakim Noah: $50,000 Fine is "Fair"

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah says it was "fair" to fine him $50,000 after being caught on camera yelling "F*ck you faggot" to a rowdy fan. Noah will not contest the fine, reports the Sun-Times.

"I made a mistake," Noah said. "I’ll learn from it and move on."

Asked about receiving a lesser fine than the Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant, who was fined $100,000 for making an anti-gay remark to a referee last month, Noah said that didn’t matter to him one way or another. "I didn’t really know what my fine would be," he said. "I was just ready to face the consequences and move on and get ready for this game. I don’t want to be a distraction to this team."

The league says Bryant’s fine was higher "because it included a sanction for verbally abusing" a game official. Bryant is contesting the $100,000 penalty.

The Joakim Noah incident happened on May 22, during Game 3 of the Bulls' 96-85 playoff defeat to the Miami Heat. Noah later apologized at a press conference. Ironically, the new anti-homophobia PSA that features Grant Hill and Jared Dudley was broadcast during half-time.

Joakim Noah is the son of former French-Cameroonian tennis legend Yannick Noah. In 2005 and 2006, the legendary tennis star and well-known playboy was gay-baited by tabloid media in Cameroon.

yeah, there's nothing more attractive and alluring than a pale-faced homophobe.

a lot of gay guys seem to be attracted to men who would treat them badly. i must be in the minority. homophobe dick has no appeal to me. if that's the case, then racists must really be hung. i couldn't imagine seeing a picture of a lynching and admiringly saying: *boy, the one holding the rope is really cute.*
