Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered an out-of-wedlock child nearly a decade ago with a member of his household staff which led to his separation with Maria Shriver, reports the LA Times.
Shriver moved out of the family's Brentwood mansion earlier this year, after Schwarzenegger acknowledged the paternity. The staff member worked for the family for 20 years, retiring in January.
"After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago," Schwarzenegger said Monday night in a statement issued to The Times in response to questions. "I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.
"I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time," the statement concluded. "While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not. "
While serving as governor, Schwarzenegger vetoed marriage equality bills in 2005 and in 2007. Now we see that this was the same time he disrespected his own marriage, family and household.

Where are the hard hitting journalists these days,..to ask all these clowns if they think their actions (Schwarzenegger's extramarital kid out of wedlock, Trump's three marriages and two divorces..) are in keeping with the "sanctity of marriage?"
Get real. Who are these people to pass judgment? I realize that even if you are the holiest of holy, you shouldn't be allowed to vote to restrict the rights of others, but goodness, it's like the dregs of society are clamoring the loudest.
I hope they drag him through the mud. Best of luck to you Maria, you've always been classy.

And, here we go again. I guess Maria was hoping for a change.

“I realize that even if you are the holiest of holy, you shouldn't be allowed to vote to restrict the rights of others, but goodness, it’s like the dregs of society are clamoring the loudest.”
So true, PX.
Not only do the dregs of our society clamor the loudest, they rule. We are ruled by dregs.
