On this Mother's Day, watch an emotional and heartwarming conversation between openly gay Washington DC-based comedian Sampson McCormick and his mother. McCormick and mom talk about coming out, growing up in the Black church and family acceptance. Despite growing up in the South and in the church, mom says she welcomed her son's coming out. "It was like being pregnant and having twins or triplets," she says. "It's not what you planned, but what God had in store for you."
Her advice to her other mothers in the Black church who discover that they have an LGBT child? "Love your child. Pray for them, love them unconditionally Love conquers everything."
Bravo and thank you for your advice and your beautiful spirit. So comforting to see this mother embrace her gay son. Via Darian Aaron, watch AFTER THE JUMP ...

What a sweet and beautiful mother, I am happy for both of them that they have that kind of relationship.
